Question Re: Tire size calculator

First, when a tire is purportedly, say, 35 inches, does that mean: (1) 35 inches high when the tire is deflated, right off the rack, (2) inflated to specs on the wheel but off the FJ, or (3) inflated to specs and on the FJ, under the full weight of the FJ?

Second, based on whatever the answer is to the above question, how much truly increased ground clearance or "lift" might one expect by moving from a 31" tire to a 35" tire? (Yes, I know there is a four-inch difference between the two.) That, however, is not dispositive, as you have to first divide that by two because only half the tire is below the axle, and then, depending on the above response, the actual lift might be considerably less if a 35" tire is measured inflated off the FJ, as the weight of the FJ will push out the base and decrease the total tire height, especially the half below the axle.

Third, in light of the effect of the springs, shocks, etc., will that increased ground clearance result in "lift" to the roof height, as my FJ is already within about an inch or two of my work garage with a 3" Old Man Emu lift?
