I'm going to miss him...

Well it finally happened. My beloved FJ got his first noticeable bruise this weekend...care of my dad on Father's Day (poor guy). It turns out he completely forgot that it was in the driveway from when my husband and I went down to visit and backed right into it out of the garage Sunday morning. Not a big deal. I wasn't even mad and in fact, felt pretty sorry for my dad because he was upset he messed up "the kid's new car."

Nothing major happened but the angle in which he backed into it messed up the the bottom of the passenger door (dents and scratches) and it'll need a new door handle that got deep scratches in it. I'm still not quite sure how my dad managed to backup into it the way he did because it was parallel to his car and behind it one space to the left, but I guess that's irrelevant now. Sorry, no pics but it really wasn't that interesting to look at anyways. Especially after some of the pics I have seen on here; ie. FJ nose down on the rim of a 50 ft+ (or something like that) hole.

We dropped the FJ off today to get repaired and I guess I find out tomorrow how long they think it'll take to get fixed. I'm still a little apprehensive about them doing a good match on the BD paint since it has the multicolored sparkles in it, but since the body shop came recommended and their work has a lifetime guarantee for as long as I own the car (which will be forever, duh!) it shouldn't be a big deal. And I know they can get the Toyota paint codes for the match but still...

It'll be sad tomorrow morning not seeing his smiling face when I head off to work and I'll be even more sad that I'll be driving the Explorer that gets WAY worse gas mileage for the next few days!
