I heard the news over the weekend and didn't believe it at first.

Shannon is in the hopital after leaving work early last week because he wasn't feeling well. On the way home he had an accident but isn't in the hospital becuase of the wreck. He has a kidney infection and is going into renal failure.

This is the third person in as many years that I have known that has gone into renal failure, please keep Shannon in your thoughts and prayers over the next week and I will updated this thread with any new news I hear.

He left work the other day feeling ill, and got into an accident. He's not in the Hospital because of the accident though.
He has some sort of infection and had a extremely high temperature, witch caused him to hallucinate. That's why they think he wrecked.
He's at UTMB in Galveston in the MICU

She also told me to not send flowers, as he is in ICU. "Cards or letters only"

His aunt told me that he is holding his own, but is under anasthesia to sleep as much as possible, so his body can fight off the infection.

Just go off the phone with his uncle and he is still in critical condition. They are currently doing dialisys on him to clean his kidneys. No visits allowed yet.

He is far from being able to have visitors.... He really needs our prayers. I went to see how he was this afternoon, and visited with his family for a while. As of this afternoon they are still trying to get the infection handled with antibiotics, and filtering the toxins from his blood (acute dailysis). His vitals were stabalized, but he is still under the effects of anasthesia. He is a little banged up from the accidentb but he is far from being out of the woods. Keep the prayers and goods vibes going his way.
I let his mom, dad, and other family know that he has alot of people across the nation praying for him, and they appreciate it all.

If I hear anything else I will keep the updates coming

Shannon is still in the ICU this morning, they moved him back there yesterday to monitor him more closely. He had thrown up some blood, they believe due to an ulcer in his stomach. They are going to scope him today to make sure, but they say the bleeding has stopped. He has received numerous cards and letters with his real name on them, but his alias is JulOeight Hotel. Nothing was open at the hospital (storm had things closed) to get him some real food..I'll probably take him some Chick-Fil-A chicken noodle soup...He also was drinking sprite, so maybe take some down there next time , I had brought him Diet Coke (no crown) ....

He is still going through dialysis in the mornings that leaves him pretty tired.They are wanting more production from his kidneys to help him lose a lot of the water he is retaining.

He is in a private room on 6b now and it is a [SIZE=1]small [/SIZE][SIZE=2]room ...[/SIZE]

We need to get together and make some care baskets for him and whover is staying with him...I know its gotta be tough for his family going back and forth to stay there with him...

Just an update, my kidneys are still not functioning properly. The doctors say that it can sometimes take up to 6 weeks for them to start functioning like they should. Right now I'm just playing the waiting game and hoping they start working.

That's about all the typing I can muster right now....pretty tired. I'll start logging in more often though!

I will have to go through some physical therapy. Laying in the bed for 35 days have made my legs really weak...so weak I can bearly stand.
