Re: MINT Natural Flamed Blonde Ltd. Taylor Acoustic
FJKoji, it is not a 900 series, but has similar appointments as a limited run. 900 series is exclusively Rosewood (regularly Indian Rosewood, but some limited 8 and 9 series are Madagascar or Brazilian). As you probably know, maple is a different beast and denoted with a "6" in the series. Has nothing to do with higher numbers being fancier (which is true with other Taylor models 1-900). 6 series is reserved exclusively for maple. Maple has a stronger attack, and quicker decay which makes it cut through better, but is typically not as warm or full sounding as rosewood. There are exceptional maples, that sound more full. A lot of people prefer maple, or visa versa. I like a good example both, but that is not a luxury I can afford right now. This is hands-down the best Maple I have ever played. That is why I have it ;-)
The action is phenomenal. Something Taylor is known for, but I often adjust the saddle down a bit if I prefer it a bit lower (the saddle just floats in the bridge). That was not necessary for this one. It is easy and low and zero fret buzz.
