Re: Lift = bad CV joints
This has actually been covered extensively with Tacoma owners. 1st gen Tacos could only reliably be lifted 2 to 2-1/2 inches without premature wear to the CV joints. Downey Off-Road went so far as to offer a set of new shafts that I believe were based on Porsche parts. I haven't researched this topic for the newer design on the FJ/Tacoma/Prado...whatever. I think you'll find the same on the FJ's...eventually. The FJ design might be more forgiving to lifting, though...only time will tell.
