Mobil 1 0W-40 European Car Formula actually meets more specs - tougher specs - compared to M1 5W-30 EP. It has better cold cold flow properties compared to M1 5W-30, and slightly better hot temp performance

I rarely compare by price alone. M1 0W-40 is somewhat unknown to the general public, despite being the same price as the "regular" Mobil 1

Another good oil is Castrol Syntec 0W-30. This oil meets the same specs as M1 0W-40. It's actually made in Germany, and is better than the other Syntec oils.
