Then, make your judgement. It sounds like you have done some reading already and identified the issues. Demello is a high quality, excellent customer service company who makes very durable gear. But, I'm biased in owning many of Jason's products and being very satisfied with my decision to purchase his stuff.
If you want to avoid any shipping damage of paint/powder coating, have them sent "raw" and get that done locally. It is not easy to ship things that are very bulky and heavy without some rubbing along the way. I've had bumpers (front and rear) and sliders shipped across the country and did have some minor issues but I'm not so fussy, knowing that I'll do more damage to them on the trail than could happen via shipping.
Good luck in your decision but my advise is Demello hands down...
