Yes, they both have an 800lb load rating. Try running over a Scepter! I'm not advocating for one brand over the other, but the Kolpin is supposedly CARB rated which makes a huge difference to some.
I would say that this system looks fantastic and if you were bent upon carrying a fuel can on the top of your roof rack (let's not start that debate again here...), this system would be the safest to secure IMO. The versatility of this system is astounding.
