Killed Bessie (my FJ) and will be building another...

Well, I finally managed to do it. Bessie is dead, it's official. I spoke with my insurance adjuster and he's calling her a total loss. Cause of death?

Drowning.

I am still awaiting the final settlement from my insurance company, so details on the how and why will be forthcoming.

The short story is the electrical system got fried and they need to replace numerous boxes (including ECU, airbag, VSC yaw sensor, etc) and WIRING HARNESS (can you say $$$$$?) so the cost to do it goes way beyond what they want to do as a repair. Oh well. What makes me crazy is that it is just an electrical issue. Everythig else is good to go thanks to The Scuba Mod (nod to you Shadow-Warrior).

So now I'm looking to buy another while the market is still good. Luckily I had good gap insurance. So it looks like Bessie II Redux will be born after I return from deployment, though I will make the purchase of a new FJ asap. Yeehaw. I get to do ALL that work all over again!!

Only good thing about this is I now have some ideas of how I would do things differently.

IN LOVING MEMORY...
