Rowlett Jeep club member killed in Colorado outing
For those of you with a copy of today's Dallas Morning News (08/04/06)- there's an article about the death of Jim Parker from Rowlett while on a Lone Star Jeep club outing in Colorado near Ouray.
It seems that grapefruit-sized, 75lb. rock dislodged from a 200ft. high cliff over Camp Bird Road and struck him in the head while driving the trail.
His passenger managed to steer the Jeep to safety and the other members of the club were able to assist and get everyone to the hospital.
Very sad story. My thoughts and prayers go out to the family and any other Texas folk that may have known or wheeled with this man.
