The manual also says don't recover the seats- as you might mess up the airbag sensors.
That manual would be about 1/8" of an inch thick if you took out all the warnings and cautions. (although it is handy to know that side-curtain airbags can cut your head off if you're hanging it out the window during deployment!)
The only thing I actually worry about is what effect adding an aftermarket brush guard or bumper has on the front impact airbag sensors and crumple zones.
