At 10:15 am Pacific Time (the other day - Thursday or Friday I think), country KZLA in Los Angeles stopped
broadcasting country music flipping to a Hot AC style format. It's reported that Rick Dees will return to L.A. Radio on this station in the near future.
Midday star, Shawn Parr tells us, "I had just started my shift and they
told me to play one final country song and that was it. So, I played Keith Urban's 'Tonight I Wanna Cry,' and that's the last country song heard on KZLA." (nice notice they gave to the staff! Probably trying to avoid an angry audience hounding them!)
Parr tells us the move came as a complete surprise to the staff saying
they're all in a state of shock. Shawn had been on the air at KZLA for 14 years.
If you are a country music fan - PASS THIS ON!
We don't need another AC station LA NEEDS a Country station that will support country music artists...how will the fans know what is going on in the world of country without country radio
PLEASE REPOST IN ANY LA FOURMS YOUR IN.
