Many people here know I am a big supporter of the Tread Lightly Org. Infact my personal website is a media sponser of the group. I help spread the word through media for them. I also get info from them on upcoming events.
On September 30th, a partner of theirs, Public lands days, is having a national event.
THis month on the 30th is public lands day
around the country, they are having work days so we can return to the lands we use for recreation
they need many volunteers, at every site
this is a simple, one day a year event, that introduces you to groups that help maintain our public lands, volunteer groups, that need our help

www.publiclandsday.org and find a place to either volunteer, or at least go by and find out what it is all about
There are events of all types going on, here in California we have events from planting native plant in the forest, to clean up of trail areas.
Remember, all work is noted, as will be your hobby of off roading. It will leave a lasting impression that you are a offroader who cares if you show up, volunteer, and always be positive, never negative.
