Ghost towns

Since I'm sitting here bored at work (cause I'm not in Ouray) I thought I'd post a link that some of you at the summit might find helpful while you're on your vacation. It's Ghost Towns and History of the American West and if you select Colorado and then click on Ouray (or what ever county) it will provide a map with clickable ghost towns and some info about them. Might provide you with some places to visit.

Re: Ghost towns

Animas Forks is on the Alpine Loop trail, in San Juan County

My 12 y/o son appreciated the "indoor" outhouse in one of the Animas houses.

This is the Walsh house. This was the home of Evelyn Walsh McLean, daughter of Tom Walsh, discoverer of the famous Campbird Mine and once owner of the Hope Diamond.

Re: Ghost towns

Hey Rover - I thought you weren't going to the Summit this year. Are your pictures from another trip? Very cool pics...
