2009 FJ Chili Cook-off

Hey guys and gals,

So on Wednesday night we want to do a Chili Cook-Off again, but with an added bonus. The winner of the raffle will win a nice donated prize from one of our sponsors.

In order to justify using one of the donated items, we need to make sure there will be enough participants in the chili cook-off to give a raffle prize away. So if we can get at least 15 participants to sign up, we will give a raffle prize to the winner.

We are going to have a three judge panel to judge the winner. One judge will be a sponsor, another a member from the town government of Ouray, and the third hopefully a local from the town or area.

We will also be supplmenting the evening with burgers (both meat and veggie) and hotdogs as well as soda.

If someone wants to coordinate this, please pm myself or t2cruiser, or email us at chili@fjsummit.org .

If you are interested in participating, email us at chili@fjsummit.org and let us know. We will be providing bowls, napkins and spoons. All you have to do is provide the chili and some good ol' chili fightin' words !

I would like to participate. But we are arriving that day and just not sure about precooking it and transporting 700-800 miles for consumption without illness! I don't have a fridge in the FJ! and not knowing the travel time for us that day we may get there too late to cook from there!

Re: 2009 FJ Chili Cook-off

I'm in if there is an actual event this year instead of just a bunch of people eating chili. I mean the chili was awesome, but it was in no way a contest.

I did that last year, Cooked it, then put it into a bunch of containers and froze it solid, then i put it in the cooler with the ice and it made the 2 day trip still solid. And tasted just as good.

Re: 2009 FJ Chili Cook-off

So it had to be a contest to be fun? I had fun and wasn't disappointed that there wasn't a First Place ribbon for me. MY chili was CLEARLY the best

Let the SMACK talk begin!!!!!!!!!
