We're trying to plan our food (camping), but the registration also says "sponsored meals". Is it possible to define that a little better?

Info above is correct.

Vittle-eatin' commences at 6:00 PM or thereabouts (thereaboots if you're Canadian) on Wed, Thur and Sat at the Twin Peaks (Summit headquarters)

Friday you can do the Demello thing or go somewhere less crowded.

My gripe with the sponsored meals is not the meals - it's the people that leave 1 person behind to "reserve" an 8-person table while they go get in line for food. The lines can easily run 30-40 minutes at peak time.

There are less tables and seating than there are registered attendees.

So, you'll come out with plates of food, dragging along your spouse and kids, and every single table will be "taken" by someone that might not show up for half an hour. You can either come early and be one of those people, or eat standing up in the parking lot.

We gave up and ate in town after the first night.
