I've read/heard a few of these million mile stories and there's one thing that they all have in common. The engines and/or trannies were rebuilt at relatively low mileage (usually somewhere around 200k) but then never needed rebuilding for the rest of the million miles. I thought it was very interesting that the mfr built engine and tranny were only good for a couple hundred k, but the rebuilt ones were still going 800,000 miles later. Perhaps because the rebuild was done by hand and not robots? Curious.
