Prius owners stealing HOV stickers

So apparantly you can drive a hybrid in the diamond lane without an extra passenger or inflatable doll in Califirnia. But you have to get a sticker from the DMV ($8) . However, the number of stickers was capped at 85,000, and they have all been issued.

So now there is a rash of prius owners reporting their HOV stickers being stolen, especially in L.A.

Now the presumption is that these perps have to be other Prius owners who did not get in on the first 85,000 HOV lane stickers.

The NY Times called it "liberal on liberal crime"
