I've not used this inverter for powering a blender, but I can tell you from experience that the better bar blenders take more wattage than 400. Mine takes over 1200. I can not run mine on a 600 watt Honda generator and it pulls my 1500 watt generator down heavily. I found a used Osterizer that runs easily on the 1500 and barely on the 600 watt generator. Check your blender for a wattage rating if you want to know before giving it a go. I know that there are "travel" type blenders that have lower power requirements, but the one that I tried was more of drink massager than a blender.
And then there's the gas operated blender for more serious margarita efforts.
