The best surf casting is off of Race Point and access is only practical by ORV or boat. Do a google map satellite search of race point and you will see what I am talking about. The satellite also shows how close the deep water is to shore. that drop off is the best for striped bass and blues. If you're not a fisherman and prefer to set up camp in the more crowded public beaches and then go for a nice walk, then I would agree with you.
