Real clean install, Bill, very impressive.

Just a newbie's question to all the CB aficiandos - why a CB when FRS/GRMS handhelds are available?
Thanks.

CB has a couple things going for it:
  1. Legacy: A lot of off-road rigs have been using CB well before FRS.
  2. Range: CB runs at a higher power (4W vs. 0.5W) and at a lower frequency (27MHz vs 462-467MHz). More power is obviously good. The lower frequency lets the signal "bend" more around obstructions, so it is not quite "line-of-site" as FRS.
