Absolutely impulse. Saw one on the street in late May'06. Thought "what the hell is that?" I'd always wanted a "jeep" that was made by Toyota and I had hated what had happened to the 4Runner and LC in terms of turning into Lexus-style, plastic trim, mall and bling machines. I also knew way too little a) to realize I could go buy an old FJ40, b) know what I was doing with the FJC. Anyway, three days after seeing it and reading a couple of press-release style articles, I went out and bought it. My wife had very recently died and it was a total attempt at compensation. Wheeled it stock for a while (till maybe Oct/Nov). Then the mod bug kicked in
I still barely know what I'm doing, but I've learned SO MUCH. This has been so fun in so many different ways...
