Re: Love Bugs!!!!

Thank God we no longer live in north-central Florida... a Love Bug haven!!!!!

I hate those useless bugs (although supposedly they eat mosquitos, which is a good thing)... They ate up my wifes YELLOW Jeep Wrangler paint.

The key is DAILY WASHING and REMOVAL of their guts!

I wet the guts down about a 1/2 hour before I do the hard work of scrubbing them off, and I keep them wet throughout that 1/2 hour. It softenes the guts up some for easier removal.

I used a sponge covered with a nylon-type, open weave covering. It was like a scouring pad but softer, not damaging. But it still took LOTS of rubbing and eye focus to find all their gut remnants on the paint. Every early evening that was my job...

I also found in the RV section of Walmart a BUG-REMOVER spray that worked VERY WELL. I used that on the worst areas (front grill, front hood, pillars, side mirrors, etc...)

Good luck and I'm glad I'm not you...
