Re: Paint Chipping Class Action?

MTB,

But in all fairness, are you going to make the same request from every other person who has posted about paint chipping? I doubt it. For what ever reason, you have a stick up your okole to argue with me about my beefs with the FJ.

Well, fine! If you must, you must. I certainly don't have any problems retorting to your insatiable curiosity about my rig. In order to appease you, I just tried to take pictures of the damages but the resolution of the camera is not good enough to show up on my digi camera. In total, there are 80-100chips. Each of the chips is about 1/8 of an inch or smaller. I'd need a micro lens and great lighting to take a decent photo. Guess if you really want to believe me you'll have to fly to Colorado to check out for yourself
I never would have predicted you would use that excuse, figured you had enough skill to take a pic, even with a 2 year old cell phone you could pick up the disaster you call "polka-dot" paint job. Most cameras have a device called a "flash" which helps with the lighting and if you get close enough, they can take pictures up real close, just in case you didn't know that.

Nah, no need to fly. You can just show them to me at the FJSummit...

Why is it so difficult for you to believe that this is happening? I certainly did not start this thread or twist the arm of any other to post their problems. Again, from the sounds of it you are not experiencing these problems-and that's a good thing. I certainly don't wish this upon you or any other. But the fact remains the same that I think the exterior finishes of the FJC are crap!

Glad you got a good one, mines a lemon on the exterior no matter how much you badger me for proof or attempt to deny my claims. If I were to buy my FJ all over again, I'd wait until the 08s arrive or until the complaints subside. Who knows, maybe the 08s will have crappy exteriors as well.
There we go, that is the word I've been waiting for...LEMON. You actually pulled the lemon card. No one can deny a claim with something as simple as a picture. Just like in any trail run or in the windshield thread, if you can't show a pic, it didn't happen...

And if you do work for Toyota, send me your direct email address at Toyota and I'll be happy to arrange professional shots to finally prove to you that this is happening. Otherwise, the regional rep will be meeting with me in about 3 weeks for a personal inspection and you can get the low-down from her.
This is still the best part of your dillusion, that in your demented sense of reality, you actually believe I work for Toyota. If you only know how funny that concept is, you wouldn't assert it again. But, you never know, do you...
