At the risk of sounding overly enthusiastic, they have the heft and design to be able to absorb a HUGE amount of damage. They are the most substantial skid plates on the market in my opinion. I am not putting other products down but I haven't seen anything that is even close. And ripping the bottom of the FJ out is something I don't want to do.
The powdercoating was very well done, by the way. RED armor plate looks wicked on the bottom of the Titanium FJ with black rails, black ARB bull bar, etc. Donohoe springs (therefore the suspension) are back ordered. I went by the factory yesterday since it's near my house and they said it will be a couple of weeks because they can't keep up with demand. Once everything is intact and updated, I'll post a photo.
But having the Bud Built skids in place is very important to me. More important than suspension upgrades at the moment since I have a desert run planned.
