MudlovingFJ has been most helpful and is truly an asset to the SoCal crowd. He's helped me a bunch of times. Dave, that does look better. I bet you can't wait to get the White FJ this Christmas!
Yes, he truly IS an asset to us So Cal guys - and an inspiration - just like you are, Tony!!!! Not to mention just a plain ol' cool dewd - again, just like you, Tony.

And if my wife gets a job soon, we might get my 4X4 really soon! BUT, she has to be gainfully employed first....

Re: There IS a Difference....

I have the 883's in front of my 4x4 and I didn't like the rear squat when towing. I picked up some 1.5" daystar rear spacers from wheelers and took care of the problem.

In 4X2 and 4X4 factory suspension. Below are pics of my 2007 FJ. The first is with the factory 4X2 suspension in the front, and the second is with the factory 2007 4X4 front springs and shocks. I have to realign my headlights now....they are blinding people, and I don't wanna do that. Waddaya think? And the after pic is after driving on it for over a week, so there is no "settling" in the springs - this is the way it sits!! WOO HOO!!

Before, pre-upgrade

After, post-upgrade (Thanks, Arien!!!!!)

I got a full 4x4 suspension setup from a guy on the forum for $50 with only 900 miles! im installing the 4x4 front suspension on my rig tomorrow. good cheap way to get some ground clearence and a stiffer front end for us 4x2 people.

Re: There IS a Difference....

so how off was the alignment? I was hoping I wouldnt have to go in right away to get it done. I want to do calico this weekend and I probably wont be able to get an alignment done before then.

Re: There IS a Difference....

Dave took his truck to the alignment shop after we did the swap and they said it was still in spec. He said it still drove perfect and straight too.

So, you shouldnt need to align it, but have it checked out anyways.

took mine in today to get the alighment done. just bought that lifetime Firestone deal. yes I know firestone sucks and I dont like them either but if they mess up my alignment then ill take it back as many times as I want, Toyota already messed mine up once and had to give me new front tires so whatever.

they gave me a full printout and I watched the laser show as they did it. my left was off a bit in camber and the tow was off also ( I bet toyota messed that up though)

the front coil overs are a good substitute for now until I can afford the real thing.

Re: There IS a Difference....

Thanks Dave for getting me started on my swap. They guys at the shop that I got my install at said my allignment was off. I have to tell you, this was a HUGE improvement over the stock 2wd springs/shocks. Oh forgot to mention,,HomeDad gave the set up for free, cant get better than that
