Re: The Official 4x2 Off-Road / Prerunner Thread

Well, the story goes like this Nate!

Kim cleans the inside of the ole Cherry Garcia out really well on Dec. 30. I mean scrubbin, vacuumin... just the whole gambit. Kim is also drinking beer. It is a lovely afternoon, so.... I JUST HAD TOO!

Monday morning I am going to go into the office for a little bit before coming home to fix some food for son Nate and his roomie, Tyler, along with the hubby Tom.

I get in the ole CG about 6:30 am or so to go to the ole office and wallah!!!! All these lights are lit up on the dash like Christmas lights. The ABS is lit, the squiggly one like you are sliding off the road is lit, the Auto LSC Off is lit, it is NOT PRETTY. It got uglier when I backed out the drive and tried to get the CG around the block. It is not a good feeling. The back end is lurching and the front end feels like poo poo.

Bring the CG back to the driveway and IMMEDIATELY get online to the forum and ask the perverbial question? WHAT IS WRONG WITH MY TRUCK?????

Alot of chatter and I already have the dealership on the phone. They advise that I order a tow truck (Very nice I might ad) and the tow truck comes to the house. One of those load on types.

We take the ole CG to Bohn Toyota and my rep (Abdul) is waiting for me. They take the CG to the back and I have my laptop with the air card and I am back online with, who else, the FORUM.....

About 20 minutes later Abdul brought CG back out with a BIG Grin on his face. He said "Kim do you know what this button does?" He pointed at the RR Diff Locker. I said No. He said, let's go for a ride and I will SHOW you. He did and the rest is history.

I ate crow, poop and humility pie that day. I thought I knew SO much about my FJ but you know what? You can teach an old dog new tricks.

So there you have it. Bang Bang tried to head me off at the pass before I had CG towed but I missed the PM, thus the story.

Put the fire out and drink another beer.

LK
