Does anybody know for sure if the 4x4 rear suspension is different than the 4x2's?
The back of my FJ is sagging a little bit and want cheap solution.
yes...they are different part numbers, they are different springs. im not sure how different though. I think if I was gonna take the trouble to change the back id just put OME's back there so I never have to mess with is again.

I guess you're right, I'll just start saving for 3" OME lift all around. The smallest rear lift I found was from a 2" spacer. I was looking for something that can lift the back about 1". If I put OME's in the back, then I will get the raked look, even more so since my front end only has 883's.

exactly..thats what im saving for...see if someone will trade you for some 884's in the front.
toytec sells all kinds of small spacers you can add until you get the level you want. this car is such a money pit, I could buy the suspension right now but I shouldnt. thats the story of my life right now; its how i got my skid plate, exhaust, and trd cai in the past month.

And, as the title says, CHEAP!! Most guys here will just give you their 4X4 suspension to get it outta the garage. And that says a LOT for the cool people here on the site....

I went under the for sale section and posted up that I wanted them...within half an hour I had tons of offers. give it a try.
I got the full setup but only changed the fronts. I dont think anyone has done the back yet. its not necessary unless you carry a load in the back a lot (people, bikes, food and coolers plus extra gass offroad).

i just recently got the 4x4 springs (JUST THE SPRINGS), do i need to get better shocks? since the spring rate differs from 4x4 & 4x2?? and also if i dont need to change out the shocks, will it be okay to drive and do i have to worry about anything in the future?? thanks!!

FWIW I have been using the stock shocks in the front with 883's (longer than the 4x4 springs) for almost a year without any problems. Also there many people that uprgade their rear springs (3" lift') and still use their stock shocks. I'm pretty sure that the 4x4 shocks are longer, and will allow for more travel off-road. If anything, you could possibly be wearing out your shocks faster.
I have a full set sitting in my garage, and I'm deciding if its worth spending money to install the rear springs and shocks. If you want, I could drop by and let you have the front shocks for free.
