Finally a place I belong.

I did the 3" OME lift with new shocks in the rear and went cheap in the front and just got springs. About 8 Months later I was able to afford the tires I have always wanted. When I got the FJ I did not know what I was getting into... But I am very happy with my ride as is. A long list of mods so far and more to come.
If you don't mind my asking, which rear shocks did you go with and why? That is where I am at...trying to decide so that I can get this 3" lift on the truck...well, that and trying again to convince the wife that we need to put this on (since it really is her rig.... )!!

Re: OK, so now how many of us 4x2s have done a lift??

It's only a matter of it may not fit in the garage after it's done. I need to measure but I really don't think it will fit in the garage after the lift and that is her main objection. I guess I could always rely on the fact that I have never been the type to "measure twice, lift once"....oops...

Re: OK, so now how many of us 4x2s have done a lift??

I plan on leveling my truck. So thats just under 2" of front lift. The rear of my truck already sits pretty high with the new leaf pack so no need to spend more money. I plan on going with Bilstien 5100s all the way around.

I'm thinking real hard about the 3" RC lift... which if I do decide to go that route, it'll be in the next 5 months... (Plus I already have the rims and tires picked out....)

You dont have to worry about driveline angles up front and breaking stuff.

Counting my "rack" mine is right at 7 feet. If I go to a bigger tire, mine won't go into mine, but ours got whacked in the events of 2005 so we are going to start rebuilding it SOON and plan to take it to a 10 foot ceiling.
