TRD 4X4 Suspension-pics

Well, I finally got my TRD shocks and 4X4 springs installed yesterday(and TRD exhaust). The lift is very noticeable over the stock 4X2 set up but of course it isn't a "lift" per se. This is as high as my rig will be going, unless I want to park it outside since I have about an inch of garage door clearance left. Although the additional height is nice, the real reason I wanted to do this was to improve handling, and it has done that nicely. It will probably take a couple of days to get totally used to. The acceleration squat, brake dive, and body roll on turns are all noticeably reduced. I was concerned that the ride might be too stiff on bumps, etc. but it isn't a rough ride by any means. Still a very smooth ride, but improved handling overall...so, I've accomplished what I set out to do. Also had a TRD exhaust installed at the same time (free labor with the suspension work) which I am also very happy with. Didn't want anything too loud but just adds a nice middle of the road tone with the CAI combo. Here are some pics.

Looks good, how do you like your Scorpians? I considered these when tire shopping. Have ya had these off-road yet? Anyway, thanks for sharing.

I like the Scorpions because they are a nice street tire with enough of an aggressive design to be capable offroad. Also provide noticably better traction on wet pavement (when we have our Florida gully-washers) than stock. I beach launch my boat sometimes and they are also better in sand. Quiet for street driving (unless you like the hum of mud tires), which I do 99%of the time since my FJ is my daily driver.

Re: TRD 4X4 Suspension-pics

So did you notice any increase in height in the rear? If so, how much?

I have a lot of stuff in the back, and as of right now with 883 springs up front, the rear end is lower than the front.

Yes, the rear is definitely higher than it was before...I would say about 1.25-1.5 inches higher. I would think 4X4 springs and shocks in the rear would level it out.

WOW. That 1.25-1.5" Is something that I will need.

Now I need to score me a set of free 4x4 rear springs/shocks.

Nice job and your rig looks good but I want to ask about your voodoo blue paint. Does it really change colors like that in the photos depending on what angle you're viewing it?

The VB paint doesn't change...it's just the lighting...early morning sun when I took the pics and I was shooting more or less into the sun. The only true color pic is the last one of the front end when the sun was behind me.
