The old, being the bent bling plate and Trail Teams 4X4 suspension.
I stopped by Jason Demello's shop this morning. He just so happened to have a front skid plate laying around, not doing much but taking up space. So, after a quick credit card swipe and about 3 coats of Hammered Black Rustoleum (and 2 good coats of primer), I had black hands. Oh, and the skid looked nice, too.
Well, ya know, since we had the front armor off anyway, Jason dropped the sway bar. As luck would have it, I had some OME 3" lift coilovers in the back of my rig....so, we thought it would be a great idea to install those while everything was apart. I know Jason hates having his picture taken, but if you look closely, you can see his left foot. Sorry Jas!
So, now I'm better than the rest of you 4X2s, and I have proof. See? My FJ turns up its nose at you all!!
So it went from the stinkbug look to the prerunner look. Next week the Icon rear springs go in, so it will be level yet again. Now, if you will excuse me, I REALLY gotta adjust those headlights....(these are just the DRLs....)
IT'S ALIVE!! IT'S ALIVE!! YES!! IT'S ALI............................................Oh sorry, I got a little carried away! Frankenstein(or is that Frunkenshtein??) is coming along quite nicely! Can't wait to see him next week! Oh, and congrats on getting rid of the bling plate and getting a good skid under there!
P.S. until next week, when ever you get in to drive, just sit BACK and RELAX!

Looks nice Dave. How much did the new skid set you back? Just wondering? Like the 3" level too. Wish I could do that but I would have to park the FJ out doors, not willing.

The skid was (unfinished) MSRP at about $280....he gave me a little discount. It was VERY worth that, and more!! Although, next time, I am gonna get more paint on the skid than the hands
That's funny. Good to meet you today Dave. I forgot 2 things...directions (I still got there by 8:15) and a camera. I guess I'll have to fake it, I know there's some pix here somewhere of Jasons feet under a VooDoo blue...
I should have put one of those on too, the plate under my FJ had to be pried off from bent mounts from Big Bear. Someone else had "donated" one with far less carnage to it & Jason was kind enough to replace mine with that one as I don't think mine was going back on.
