Man-A-Fre Sliders

Since there was no thread on this subject I am going to paste some info from Steve O at Man-A-Fre that he posted at the ih8mud site:

New items soon to be seen for the FJ Cruiser.... Skid plate and Rock Sliders.

Both of these are currently in production and should be up on the main page of our site very soon!

Skid plate will be mounted with a new crossmember for ultimate protection. Rock sliders will have additional mounting points for the strongest mounting as well.

I will have prices and availablity very soon. Keep in mind these are the prototypes, the finished product may look slightly different and will come powder coated black. As I mentioned we will be putting them on the main page of our site, as well as in the "whats new" section as soon as they are in stock and ready for sale. We have several other new items coming soon, I will keep posting stuff up early for people to see. Enjoy!!

Re: Man-A-Fre Sliders

If I hadn't of had mine custom made, I would have bought these! Up close to the body, doesn't stick too far out. Awesome!

Re: Man-A-Fre Sliders

Steve-o,

I got your PM, but decided to answer on the forum so all can see.

I like this design. I think it is superior to others in that the openings are smaller, reducing the chance of hang up on a rock. The extension seems just right and I don't think a dog and human will wedge a paw or foot, and certainly their foot won't go all the way through.

I always seem to come up with a couple questions whenever I look at a design.

1. Will a rachet and socket be accessible for attaching the sliders? If I recall correctly a M8 bolt has a 13 mm head.
2. Does this design accommodate the brake line that runs along the frame, or will an alternate routing and brake line attachment be required?
3. What is the weight of each slider?
4. The square tubing appears to be 2"x2" and the round tubing 1-3/4" diameter, is that correct?
5. I will order a black powder coat. Do you have a price in mind?
6. When will sliders be available for delivery?

Regards, Ken
