Based on what I've learned from friends who have street racers with cold air intakes, it doesn't seem to me that the cold air intakes for the FJ could be better than the current stock air intake.
To be more specific the current setup is drawing air from outside the engine compartment through the right fender, but the aftermarket cold air intakes show an air filter inside of a box type thing inside the engine compartment.
any thoughts on this? has anyone installed one?

Re: XeNoN40

We don't have "cold" air in texas. Pepboys has a cone filter for 44$ that fit over the old filter intake. I have the Large cone almost 10" long. I really feel more HP and my flowmaster 40 is definitly louder.

Re: XeNoN40

I have had my Airaid for 2 weeks and it really works. Has got more pep now than without it and the fuel gauge doesn't seem to fall as fast, but I have not calculated MPG since install. Only 1,600 miles on odometer. I definitely recommend this system, it really works. Best price I found was from Truck Accessories and Jeep Accessories By Central 4 Wheel Drive for $226.36 with FREE shipping. No issues with purchase from them.
