Anyone know what size the header bolt is? Nobody knows after
asking around. People will say that you don't need it. They are
locking fasteners for headers and I thought it would go good
with the ones that JBA makes. Only to find out is order one from
the dealership and I don't really want to do that. Random question.
They are usually 3/8" for a chevy.....3/4 to 1" long. The wheels are interchangeable, maybe the head bolts are too. All kidding aside, I don't know either.
I don't recomend doing this unless you have lots of time on your hands. Got some headers and wanted to change the stock studs to a better stage 8 bolt with a locking fastner. At the time I didn't know what size they were until after the headers got on there. It is 8mm if you want to ad this with your headers. Don't know if it will it make a difference in performance but you never have to worry about loseing your studs and a sense of accomplishment. Didn't think I could do it and I did it. Took about 2 weeks.
they are 8bk8 over 3ktdyk
jkjk i have no idea, mine are there, and thats about it.

Just an FYI - you probably meant "grade 8" not "stage 8" which is the typical SAE designation for a high-strength bolt. However, SAE designations don't apply to metric bolts, so you need to look at classes instead of grades. The metric equivalent to grade 8, or close enough not to matter, is class 10.9. Use these numbers and letter when ordering bolts and you'll get the right stuff to make your FJ sweet.
Stage 8 is the manufacturer of "C" shaped washers with hexagonal shaped cutouts in the center that straddle a tightened bolt and are held in place with C clips to prevent the bolts from loosening themselves.
Most manifold stud nuts are self locking 'crushed' nuts. They're the correct diameter and thread count, etc, but they're slightly pressed on the side and not exactly round. Just another way of making a locking nut.

Cool, never knew this.
