I'm about to drop some moolah...Will this work?

Well, I've done a lot of reading on this forum. There are as many opinions as there are people. Forgive me for attempting to learn from others successes and failures, but humanity is doomed if we can't learn from each other.

Specifically, I wish to go with this set up and would like to know if it will work and if anyone can forecast any issues I might have.

Old Man Emu 2" medium lift
Four+Plus Lower control arms
American Racing Mojave 16 x 8 wheels with 4-1/2" backspacing.
Bridgestone Dueler Revo 285/75R16 tires.

Thanks in advance for negative and positive feedback.

Dragon,
I am sure you have done your research and if this is what you want, go get it!

.... And then post pics so i dont have to post scarlett.

-Aggie

PS- I love those rims. OME all around, I would be worried about the ride. Oh and if you decide to get rid of your painted aluminum rims, I will buy them off of you.

We could do both. Scarlett is always welcome in threads I start.

Why would the ride suffer for OME all around?

I have done research, but there may be something with this set up that some others may have had issues with, so better to ask now than to cry later.

Dragon - Sound like you have thought thru what mods you want. The equipment you have listed is rated highly, so it becomes a matter of personal opinion. Anyone adding a lift and lower control arms is doing so for two reasons: (1) vehicle appearance and (2) higher clearance for off roading. Assuming #2 is just as important to you as #1, be sure to save money for good undercarriage armor (sliders, skid plates, and low arm protection).

Thanks, KLD. It's for reason #2 as I have bottomed out on muddy terrain often and don't wish to do so on rocks (Ouray and Moab next year). The lower control arms are beefier than the ones that come stock on this truck. They are found here MAF Master Template

...and Four+Plus skid plates sold by Man-a-fre are on the list, too

I already have Trail Gear sliders.

Thanks again.

Dragon,

I can tell you that if you go with the med.spring package all around from OME your ride will IMPROVE a little, not the other way.(YOU know that I know this) The soft springs will be too soft, and the firm will be too harsh unless yopu have a heavy load on or in the truck at all times. the med. springs also allow for an after market front bumper. In short, you can spend more money on other shock/spring packages, but the SMART money is in the Old Man Emu package. Go for it If you are not happy with it, I''ll fly you to So.Cal. to beat the crap out of me!

In all my years of martial arts, the one thing I learned is there is always somebody tougher. I'll take a pass on the beat down.

But I do appreciate your feedback on the OME lift. Your thread helped put me over the top

OK ok ok. Please forgive my very generic, and depending on what your past is, misused slang in the title of this thread.

The title should read:

"I have narrowed down my selection and am about to spend somewhere between $2600 and $3200 on some aftermarket improvements. Can anyone see any flaws with this set up?"

Nothing like getting off topic

Wow, I know who I am going to come to when I decide to buy a "real" 4X4 and not my current "mall" 2X4. Dragon has done some serious research. can't wait to see the finished product.
