Red face Factory skidplates suck!!!!!

I took my new FJ out for its 1st test this weekend a 30mile trail from Lake Pleasant to Crown King Arizona. It performed really well considering it is all stock at the moment. I did a little bit of rock crawling and tore the crap out of my skid plate and I mean it shredded it. Anybody recommend an aftermarket replacement that will take some abuse

Great minds think alike (damned Land Rover Owners)

Very handy to know if you need a roof tent too...I'm waiting for the "limb riser" kit next!

Here is another link from Man-a-fre that is considerably less expensive:

FJ Cruiser Skid Plates 4+Plus

Hope it helps.

Mike,
I had the same set up and WRECKED mine on the same road. I turned my Toyota optional skid plate into scrap metal.
Dave

See my previous post for a link to Man-a-fre for a less expensive skid that looks a little heavier duty.

Re: Factory skidplates suck!!!!!

I have to say I like how you think Rover.

BTW I used to live in Nashville about 10 years ago. Met my wife there! We lived on West End and over by Tenn State. Lot of good times.

Unless I am following the wrong story, their front skids aren't ready yet. I thought this fella was looking for a replacement for his factory skid.
