Is this a part of my FJ Cruiser?

I found what appears to be some sort of plug in a pile of gravel I had been playing around on while adjusting my coilovers today. (Needed to get the front wheels in the air and this was faster and more fun than jacking the FJ )

When playing I didn't think I had bottomed out anywhere, and on a quick inspection didn't notice any fresh white marks on the undercarriage from the gravel. But just in case wanted to check and see if this is from my FJC and needs to be replaced somewhere.

Here is a pic of the part in question as I found it. It seems to have alot of gravel and sand caked in it, which my FJ doesn't have caked anywhere in it's undercarriage but maybe if it came off and I ran it over it could get packed like this:

After cleaning at home with soap and water this is what I now have. It looks pretty new and my FJ is only a few months old, so maybe it is from the FJC?

Any thoughts on what this could be?

Regards,
Alphonse

I believe that is the oil plug protector. We lost ours too! but did not find it! If i am wrong someone please correct me! Look in your manual about the oil changes! see if this is the same piece.

At only 2-1/2" long, I do not think that is what it is.

Some framed vehicles have those to plug up holes in the sides of the frame rails (if it's rubber). I don't recognize it from appearance as FJ specific, and probably not that important IMHO.

Re: Is this a part of my FJ Cruiser?

It's actually only about 2" long, my camera kind of warps the pics when I use Macro. I had heard about the oil drain cover easily coming off in other threads. But if this is not that part then it must not be from my FJC.

Must have been from my buddies Jeep in the background, although he tried to tell me that all the Jeep plugs are round so it was from my FJC!

Regards,
Alphonse

Re: Is this a part of my FJ Cruiser?

It's looks like a drain plug for a Jeep Wrangler. There is one on each side of the Jeep just in front of the driver and passenger seats. Used to drain out the water once you have hosed/cleaned out the inside of the Jeep.

Yea that does look like a floorboard plug from a Jeep (used to have one 'till I saw the light)....Al man, I told you call me if you headed back over there....I need to test out the a-trac hack you did for me today...Thanx again man!! Grade A work, looks like it came like that from the factory...Getting the Cooper Discover STT's installed tomorrow...Then head over to that rock area to test them out...In Florida, anything bigger than a speed bump is something to get excited about!!
