Talking Installed my sliders - Stubbs Welding (pics!)

I installed my Stubbs Welding sliders a coupple of weeks ago and finally downloaded the pictures. They fit perfectly and I had no trouble installing.

Here they are from below:

Below is a blurry picture of the rear brake line. I was able to keep it bolted in its original place.

Now all they need is some scratches.

Here's where I got 'em: link

Hello chewey46 it appears that you have not posted on our forums in several weeks, why not take a few moments to ask a question, help provide a solution or just engage in a conversation with another member in any one of our forums?

I painted them with Rust-o-leum Hammertite.

Any comments from structural engineers in regards to this design of connecting the slider to the frame vs triangular gussets?

Re: Installed my sliders - Stubbs Welding (pics!)

Another set of Stubbs Welding FJ Slider install pics...

Richard Stubbs from StubbsWelding - FJ Sliders produces a quality product for a very good price $389+ship.

First I stocked up on the neccessary paint supplies, actually needed three cans of paint, Home Depot is only 5 minutes from my house so no big deal...

A look at how clean the rails actually were when they arrived on my door step:

Hung the rails for painting:

Primer, two coats:

Hammerfinish Black paint, three coats:

I like the Hammerfinish as it looks as if they were powder coated, but with the paint you are able to keep them new looking with a quick touch up:

Richard told me that I needed to remove the rear most brake line bolt to make room for the sliders. After the sliders are torqued down don't forget to re-attach...

Next a couple of jack stands to raise the sliders level to the holes in the frame.

Everthing lined up perfectly and I was done with the installation in about 30 minutes, I love the fact that there is no welding required to install sliders on the FJ, THANK YOU TOYOTA!!

Finished install...

THANKS RICHARD for your quality workmanship and product!

Nice pics. Was planning to lay my trail gears on a couple of sawhorses to paint, but hanging looks much better!

Re: Installed my sliders - Stubbs Welding (pics!)

They look just like the All-Pro sliders. Hmmm. Weird.

Re: Installed my sliders - Stubbs Welding (pics!)

Hanging them by a wire speeds up the painting process as you don't have to wait to paint the covered side, all you have to worry about is a little scratch size area that the wire covers when you take them down...
