Isn't it easy to touch up even a powercoated rail if you use something like Herculiner, or better yet, paint them with Herculiner/Durabak and touch up as needed?

I was told the Durabak will not keep in the can once opened. I shook the can the other day, 2 months after I painted my rails and its still very liquid in there.

If I was to do it over? I saw somewhere that you can buy quart size cans of bed liner paint. They were cheap and it more than enough for 2 coats on the rails with probably enough left over for touch up.

Even then you can always buy another quart.

This is the one I think I saw:

Instead of buying a $70-$80 gallon you can buy a $22 quart. I know its not Durabak but if your going to scrape it off a lot who cares?
