My Dealer can't remove the frickin running boards AT THE FACTORY!!!

I just came from there and they told me that the first run of FJ's they are getting are only equipped with running boards - they are not port installed options - nor can you easily take them OFF to replace with rock rails.

Every time he tried to delete the running boards from the system the system kicked it back

, so I'm waiting until May to get my rock rails - I'm just not willing to settle with running boards... I'm so bummed....

Chill...you still have two weeks to get it straighten out maybe on of the helpful dealers that have been on here can set it straight

There have been hundreds coming off the ships without running boards. I call BS!

I agree with Jelopy. That is BS The dealer owes you free install of your rock rails at least, when the rails arrive.. And tell them to take off the Boards and the charges before you take the keys.

Tracy Toyota my dealer took off the RB at port and put on RR...

Thanks guys for all this information, I'm taking it up with my dealer once again - with references to what I've learned here.... we'll see what the response is.....

The question is did you get your spec's in writing? If so hold them to it !This has been discussed here over and over, The consensus was that anything can be removed before they hit "port" and has been done a number of times....Search port oppitions...Having just reread you org post sounds like you have one of the seemingly to be many uninformed or just to dam lazy to care dealers.....Arrrgg..

I did get my specs in writing but the running boards were always a question. So, I heard back from my dealer and they are checking to see if they can pull the running boards off and put on the rock rails - while they have another one to my specifications on order. To their credit, they are doing the best they can, I think like most they just don't know. So I'll find out more on Friday. Either way I'll have my FJ by mid May or earlier, of course my preference is earlier....
