to hd or not

when i was ordering my OME kit from man-a-fre, i noticed the cool little HD rear lower control arms and began to wonder if the impressive flex noted on the stock ones during off-roading is a good thing, and if i plan on lifting will it just get worse, necessitating a swap.

any ideas?

two benjamins isn't that much.

Re: to hd or not

Make sure you talk to MAF about the bushings as the links come w/o bushings installed. They were in the process of figuring out what to use in them since you cannot buy the Toyota bushings at your dealer. The best reason to replace your lower links is that the factory links are made of paper thin material and they will bend the first time you set your FJ down on a rock. Ask me how I know...

I made it home OK. However, I didn't drive it until I installed a new set of links.

Re: to hd or not

We just got the arms in with optional bushings. We chose to go with the OME polyurethane bushings. They will provide much better flexing over stock, and will not alter on-road handling.

Lower HD Control Arms.
