All-Pro Bumper & Winch

Has anybody installed anything other than a warn winch on an all-pro front bumper. I just got my bumper and it looks real tight in there. I was hoping to get a milemarker winch because they are about half the price. I had one on my TJ It was great!????????????????

Re: All-Pro Bumper & Winch

There's alot ALOT more room in there than what you think. Especially width wise.

A Milemarker electric winch is nothing more than a rebadged chinese Chicago Electric(read: Harbor Freight) electric winch. IMO, its a cheaply built winch with cheap parts.

A winch is the most important item to not try to save a buck on. If you feel like you will ever "need" a winch, then do it the right way the first time. You get what you pay for.

FWIW, I have seen four Milemarker 8000lb electric winches fail on the trail. One of them was on its first pull. He took it back and bought a Warn X8000i and couldn't be happier. The others were still VERY new also.

If you want to save some $$$, at least buy a Warn M8000. You can get them for around $500-$600. Still, given the weight of the FJ Cruiser, I would recommend a 9000lb or bigger winch. You basically want to double the weight of the vehicle with whatever winch you decide to get.
