Hi-Lift Jack mounts

OK, I need to purchase mounts for my 48" Hi-Lift Jack.
After some searching and site exploring I found the Demellos and the Fourtreks. Are there any other options out there for a roof rack specific mounting system. It's weird to me that the tiny mounts cost more than the jacks they are built to hold.

Thanks

Re: Hi-Lift Jack mounts

I just purchased the Fourtreks clamps - they are top notch! Very well machined, with and excellent thumbscrew hold down, they lock ridgidly to the tubing, have no vibration, and are built to last. Their newest tool mounts are equally superb with rubber saddles and integrated rubber snubbers. The cost IS high, I agree, but they will outlast your FJ, and SECURELY hold your tools (without drilling holes in the handles!) Just remember to use a little Lock Tite on the clamp bolts.

Re: Hi-Lift Jack mounts

The Four Trek mounts are indeed great, I have 'em.

Four Treks owner Luke just released a shovel and axe mount.
Modular Shovel Mount
Modular Axe Mounts

I have been in touch with him to see if 2 sets of the rubber mounts can work with one set of rings, this way you can have the axe/shovel together.

There is also a member on the forum here who is working on a very nice setup to hold the above plus a Hi-Lift, so it will be a tri mount.
He may be working on a dual mount too for people like me who already have a Hi-Lift mount.

You will see pictures before to long of this new setup posted by another member here.

As Corey knows I am working directly with this member to manufacture a mount that will hold the hi-lift, a shovel and an axe with a single set of mounts. But, if you're looking for cheap, they will not be that. But they will be specifically designed for the FJ and will be professionally designed and made. It will also have a padlock option for the hi-lift jack.

There are many options available, but I haven't seen many that have impressed me. If you just want to mount the jack only, then what Corey did is a nice mount.

I have seen some people put together some "interesting" and cheap ways to mount the hi-lift, but personally, for my truck, I won't use cheesy pipe clamps and bolts that were not designed to carry the weight of the hi-lift under the stresses of 4-wheeling.

After the holidays he will be placing he final touches on the design and manufacture one for final testing (we tried out a plastic mock up this weekend) and then we can post pictures, descriptions and start taking orders.

Re: Hi-Lift Jack mounts

Looking very forward to that Jim.
I like my homemade mounts for my shovel and axe I made, but they are a PITA to get to.
Having a mount on the side of the factory rack will be much easier to access them.

Plus right now my dealer saw my two homemade mounts and they are afraid the bolts sticking up will get caught in their new carwash system they have.

I only use a drive through carwash a few times during the winter months when it is to cold to wash by hand.

Standing by for pics...

Re: Hi-Lift Jack mounts

Fourtreks all the way. I have two sets - one for my PullPal. Perfect fit, perfect ease of removal: that 6061-T6 alum is not gonna rust. The handles are great too. And Luke ships quickly, is great on the phone and is coming out with new stuff all the time.

Re: Hi-Lift Jack mounts

Completed my Fourtreks tool and High-Lift mounts today - I am very pleased with the results. The clamps for the tools are SERIOUS and they array nicely across the rear of the rack so the tools are nested and the rack 'insides' are still totally usable. A THIRD tool can even be added between the rubber clamps, if desired....additional pics in next post......VERY nice product....RR
