I have to say that guy is a moron. but lets be honest the fj held up pretty well for a direct impact like that. anyone able to definitely identify the choice in brushguard/bullbar?
it is supposed to be airbag approved. that is not nearly enough to set off airbags. I totalled a 96 bmw without setting off the airbags, I can upload pictures to show you how much damage there was if you like. also they are g force set off now, he just glanced off the tree thanks to the normal angling at the side of the arb bumper. it would have taken a square hit bringing him to a sudden stop to set them off, even then it might have taken more speed. having been hit in the face by an airbag before I would rather they be even harder to set off, but I will take everything I can to keep those things from tearing my face up again.
i must admit, i've never hit a tree... sober anyway. took out bushes and 2 poles. damn, a 2500 hd is hard to stop on ice after having a liquid breakfast. no damage to the truck tho, and now its someone elses, and i learned from my mistakes
