Trail Ready Bumper

I just got done talking to the guys up here at Trail Ready and I have pictures of their FJ Bumper.

Front view of standard bumper

View with brush guard

One interesting aspect I like is how they kept it's profile not so tall and still protect the bottom of the radiator area.

This FJ (not mine) did not have the OME front skid plate so once mine is ready we might make an adjustement or two.

View from the top without the brush guard.

Re: Trail Ready Bumper

Do you know cost and weight information, with and without the top bar? Also, availability dates?

Re: Trail Ready Bumper

I would really prefer to see a skid plate or something covering the area between the bottom of the bumper and the lower radiator crossmember. They've left that very vulnerable to punctures. I don't drive on the the kind of 'roads' that would cause a problem, but an ill placed branch from a small downed tree, or an errant stick of manzanita would cause some serious problems with the radiator core. Not to mention road debris. Overall, I think it's a nice addition to the bumpers out there, though. Would really like to see more pictures of it...

+1 me likey! Perhaps this is now my front runner in my efforts to upgrade my FJ's front. Prior to this I was ARB all the way, with the WARN a distant second. However, this one by Trail REady seems to incorporate what I like best in my previous top 2 contenders.

Oh tell me more please

Re: Trail Ready Bumper

now this is something i would be willing to do. with the brush guard. gives it a mean look without all the curvey wavy bars.

weight, cost, etc. probably need to beef up the front suspension i guess?

is this a prototype or are they in production? what type of install?

basically, whatever everyone else is gonna ask...

Re: Trail Ready Bumper

Cost $950 basic & $1050 /w brush guard. Colors – what ever powder coat colors are available.

Not exactly sure on the weight but it not more then 100 pounds. It wasn't that heavy when I was fondling it yesterday

All plate is 1/8 inch and brackets are 1/4 inch steel - their standard.

I put the heavy OME 3" lift on my FJ thinking it would be heaver but you could probably get away with medium easy depending on your winch. My Warn 9.5 weighs around 60 pounds by itself with the synthetic line 100 pounds with cable.

Oh and they are officially 6 weeks out with their first production run of 40.

Re: Trail Ready Bumper

I agree that it looks nice without the hoops but I'm also concerned with lower section being open. I can see that as being a bit vulnerable and I can see situations where the round bar could get hung up on things. I would prefer a smooth front protecting all the way down below the radiator. But, no doubt it looks good.
