ick, this is awesome.

I have the rear locker, but not A-Trac, so I'm ready to try it. Do you have a part number for the switch you bought? The local Toyota parts person was clueless. She said she only saw the whole cover...

#84988-35060. I won't be able to post pics until this weekend. If you need to see more posts on this and the test performed, check out www.ih8mud.com and look for the A-Trac thread in the FJ Cruiser section.

If anyone wants details, send me a PM.

Ok, now someone get to work on clipping (or falsing the logic whichever way is off-0v or 5v) the locker feedback wire so ATRAC will work when the locker is on.

Re: 2 cheap and easy A-TRAC hacks

Ok, I just read the entire thread over at ih8mud.com -- pretty much mirrored this thread with ickman and another trying this out until if finally worked.

That thread raised a question as to whether this hack would work on an FJ without the rear differential locker though.

I'd try it but I don't have an FJ yet -- does anybody with a 4X4 FJ without the rear locker want to try this to see if it works? Thanks.

Also, the thread over at ih8mud.com showed pictures of using a wire instead of a switch, so if anybody is willing to try this they could just use a wire for testing purposes and save the $60 if it doesn't work.

I would not want it on while locked, infact we were wondering if the hack turned off the Arac when the locker was turned on so that you did not have 2 opposing forces working at the same time
