Need Bud Built Install Help

I just go two of the boxes still waiting for the other two and the gas tank skid. Do they come with any install instructions? I know it should be easy but if it can be messed up I will make it happen. I got a bag of hardware with the oil pan cover not sure where everything goes. Thanks for any and all help.

Bud has written instructions. The install is very straight-forward and you won't screw it up. Either call Bud or email him to get the install document.

Re: Need Bud Built Install Help

I assume you have the front and the center skid plate. First remove the two OEM skid plates. Next, install the nut plate onto the front skid (center rear hole) and then bolt the front skid plate to the four OEM mounting points with the new hex head bolts and flat washers provided in the bag. I used a hydraulic jack to help holding up the skid plates during the install. Insert the flat head screw (black oxide finish) through the countersunk hole in the center skid plate and bolt up on the front skid nut plate (keep this loose until the skid is aligned). Install the remaining four hex head bolts and flat washers; tighten the flat head screw. For the aft skid plate, you'll need to remove the four bolts holding the two diagonal crossmembers. Install the rubber bumper onto the aft skid and install the four flat head screws through the four countersunk holes in the aft skid plate. Install the two carriage bolts and nuts through the center skid and aft skid (the aft skid plate sits on top of the center skid plate). I don't have the fuel tank skid plate or BudBuilt crossmember.

Re: Need Bud Built Install Help

I got the center skid and the cross member right now. I should have the others soon weather over the pass is slowing Fed Ex from Sacremento. I am sure the rest of the hareware and install instructions will be in these boxes for the front and the aft sections. I know that it has been said before and I will say it again man these things are great I can't believe the difference from stock. I have been out in the garage three times tonight just to pick them up and admire them.

I may get some feedback from this but, I would recommend these before my DR lift. I think that the insurance that they will provide will be a great comfort.

Thanks

Bud is great to work with, give him a call in the morning. He walked me right through a challenging part with me right over the phone.

Hey, those are my skidplates! Cool!

They were VERY easy to install. I didn't have any directions and I didn't have any issues what-so-ever!

Will this fit with any of the aftermarket bumpers?

Yes, they should work with aftermarket bumpers since the front skid plate mounts to the same frame crossbar as the OEM skid and the BudBuilt plate is also slotted to accommodate coilovers with swaybar spacer blocks. I have FabFours front bumper.
