Loctite Rock Rails?

Should I Loctite the Rockrail bolts? Also, are there any suggestions to help prevent rust from forming between the rockrails and the frame?

Re: Loctite Rock Rails?

I'll just use primer on the facing of the mounting plate. I was also thinking of making some rubber gaskets to go between the rock rail the the frame. Thoughts?

I would use anti-seize on the threads and torque the bolts down. The rock rails need to be structurally tied to the frame so gaskets between the rock rails and frame is not a good idea. Paint should be OK for corrosion prevention since there should not be any sliding between rock rails and frame attachment points.

Re: Loctite Rock Rails?

Good Advice - and I would be sure and use a torque wrench to be sure the botls are properly tensioned. You don't want them under-tensioned and it is easy to do for a couple of the bolts who are in a location that makes them a bit more difficult to get leverage on.
