Just talked to Emily and confirmed that the $325 is for bare metal. A powder coat does add $125.

Dont know about the care bears part though.
Your in Alameda, so its an easy drive to Bentup's shop....from Concord it takes me 1:15.....Im sure if you go pick them up in person, AJ will bolt them on for ya.
If I had mine still bolted on I would offer to meet ya somewhere in Oakland and you could see them in person....but they are in Sacramento...

2007 MT6 Silver FJ, "Angry FJ", Bentup skid plate, Bentup front winch bumper w/WarnM8000, Bentup rear bumper , Bentup sliders, Skyjacker adjustable coilovers, TLC rear link skids...and TTORA sticker residue that is like herpes.
1997 Solid axle swapped Tacoma, aka "Big Blue".... Rubicon tested, and Soupbowl approved.
1989 4runner Solid axle awap, "Project Angry"...more to come...
Shut up and wheel.
Those are sweet rails, we plan on makeing a set this weekend except I was planning on using a flat plate next to the frame, I was going use 1 1/2 dom as I have the dies for that
Love the design, but I've seen better welds in a High School shop class.
Which welds are you referring to???? Please give some more info! Would you rather see them half-welded like the stock 'rock rails'????
Its not like I'm swapping my seats to leather or anything...this rig might actually go off the pavement some day. I sure hope your leather upholstery installer cross stiches all of your stiches for you!!!

I'm with Angerboy here.... Those sliders are fine. You wanna ***** about welds look at the stock setup. While you're down there take a look at how they ran the exhaust crossover pipe - that'll give ya something to ***** about.

Thanks for the amusing thread and engineering tutorial . I'm getting a pair and that's final. Now it's time to place orders and go out and see how they really function.

Ouch, I'm devastated. If they did mess up the stitching, I'd make them redo the job. If these seats had been full vinyl I may well have left them alone, but since the cloth covers look so chessy, they're getting replaced...Besides mud and snow will wipe right off the leather. I'll spend more time in the snow than I will offroad.
Don't be so tempermental, the close up pic of your right rear rail shows some air gaps where the bent tube meets the straight tube. The welding looks rough to me. Sorry if you're personally offended by the observation, they just look unfinished. Still a great design though.

For people with the stock rails.
If the stock rails prove to have a problem with the welds couldn't you just have them rewelded better?
That should not cost alot.
Have any of you who were purchasing these received them yet? I'm thinking about getting some shipped to Canada, the shipping is pretty steep ($110) but the design from bentup looks so much more useful than Toyotas. So, I cancelled my order with Toyota but would love to hear the experiences of people who bought the bentup ones...
