Re: New FJ....and custom sliders

Nice, can't wait to see them on your FJ. I ordered mine without any rails with these in mind, whenever it gets here. One question, they look like they have a gloss finish. Will they match what looks like a matte finish on the roof rack?

They don't match texture wise, but they will be several feet apart. I doubt you'll notice. It will be a couple weeks until I find out, however, as I am out on vacation starting tomorrow

You are letting a whole forum of people, who drool daily thinking of the FJ Cruiser, know that your FJ Cruiser will be "unattended" for a couple of weeks while you are on vacation? Brave Just kidding - can't wait for the pictures after you get back. Should look very good.

That's cool, I'll just have to wait and see. I don't think I'll be getting mine for at least a couple weeks. Have fun on your vacation!

Versus port or dealer installed for $575 MSRP. I hope Bentup holds the price for six month, this looks like the way to go.
I've seen the toyota ones as low as about $380. Installation (dealer) is <1 hour, so just for apples to apples, you can be in dealer RR's for well under $500.

Price is one consideration. However, the Bentups seem more substantial (for the $$$) and appear to provide better protection further out from the rig not to mention a step for reaching the rack without needing to open the doors.

Looks good but I think I'd like it to stick out slightly less, but still be usable as a step.

Yep. Just wanted to say I'd seen the price less expensive than MSRP and/or the price Kansas was referring to. Not a functional comparison.

perv3rse,

First of all...nice revolving avitar! Secondly, since they are a custom fab house, you could ask them to make a pair that don't protrude out quite as far. Since they already have the template for the mounting plates, I don't think that it would be too difficult to get them to shorten the tubes. Just a thought.

I totally agree, which is keeping me on the fence right now (or should I say, on the rocks....no, that's for the bar....or is it the rail - way too much wordplay for one day)
